FAQ'S

What sort of boiler/water pressure do I need?
Any sort of combi boiler is ideal for the units to function properly. If you’re not on a combi boiler and use a gravity feed system, storage tank etc. then as long as the shower is supplied with between 1 and 3 bars of pressure, the unit will operate. For the best results between 2 and 3 bars is recommended. Please ensure that there is a flow rate of at least 8 litres per minute. The water supply to the unit MUST also be balanced, this can be achieved by fitting a Pressure equalising Value.

I have a Gravity Fed Hot Water System, will this work the unit?

No, Gravity fed hot water is not at sufficient pressure, because these units operate between 1 and 3 bar of pressure. We recommend a Twin Impeller Pump to be used, to pump both feeds, so that the hot and cold water are sent to the system at equal pressure. To achieve the best results from your shower we would suggest you get a pump capable of between 2-3 bar. (Ask your plumber)

What kind of electrical supply and connections do the steam rooms require?

All our steam rooms are fitted with a 3 KW steam generator as standard.  In the case of steam rooms with a massage baths these also have a separate connection for the massage pump on the bath, which draws 0.9 KW. Each unit has a cable attached to the back of the main computer and is fitted with an RCD. The showers with hydrotherapy baths also have a separate cable connection for the bath pump meaning two electrial connections must be present. The Steam units require a 13 amp isolated fused spur for each connection. The power is converted within the unit to operate the lighting and radio etc to a safe 12 volts.

Isn't it expensive to run?

Not at all! A 30 min steam session in a unit costs about 17 pence at today's rates. Compare that to a £40 a month gym membership and your more than quids in.

Can't I just install it myself?

Though we can offer a supply only price, due to the nature of a steam shower, like all other reputable retailers, we insist that it installed by a qualified, competent trademen. Any issues after installation resulting from improper installation may void the warrenty due to the resulting negligence.

How much space do I need to install a steam shower?

This is probably the single most common mistake you can make. You need enough room to allow reasonable access around and above the unit in order to assemble it i.e there must be enough space to allow a person to get in behind. Once assembled it can be connected and pushed back into its final position. We would also recommend that it is not completely blocked in so it can be drawn forward should this ever be necessary for maintenance.

Do I have to build it on top of a platform?

No, the shallow trap and strainer provided with the unit will allow it to drain if connected to a fixed waste pipe at ground level or lower.

Where does the water and electricity connect at the back of the shower?

Water is connected at the diverter behind the unit. The diverter is positioned approximately 1250mm off the floor (this may vary slightly between models). All unit comes supplied with hoses of approximately 950mm length for both hot and cold water supplies.
The 13a power supply is typically from under the base and has a cable approximately 1500mm in length.

Can I use the smelling oils and bars that I have heard of with the steam function?

Yes of course! Simply lift the cap fitted to the top of the steam outlet and you will find a gauze style plate for the bar/oils to sit into to give the steam any fragrance you wish.

Will the tub support heavy weight?
The tub/bases in all our units, have thick material, reinforced by fibre-glass, supported by a steel frame, this means that unlike some other products on the market they will not bend and give after time.

Are the price’s quoted inclusive?

Yes, all our prices include Vat and delivery, All our products are supplied with all you need to connect to your prepared services, there are no hidden extras. Unlike various companies that try to sell you fittings packs for an extra £40+ when the items in them are already fitted into the shower.

Do you provide a warranty?

All of our products are covered by a 1 years parts warranty as well as the labour warrenty. (Upgrades available)

Do you supply and stock spare parts?

We've made sure we only source from suppliers that have a comprehensive range of spares in stock ready to send.

Do your steam showers require fixing to the wall?

No, all of our steam and shower rooms are sturdy, self-contained freestanding units that can be assembled, connected and then moved into position against a wall.

Do I need to tile or prepare the wall behind the unit?
